it's important to keep in mind as Trump talks about annexing Canada or whatever the ridiculousness du jour is that he says all sorts of crazy shit all the time and almost none of it actually ends up happening.
I assume you're thinking "enshitification".
That was cute at first, and useful: it referred specifically to what happens to two-sided platforms (like a marketplace, or "ride share" or takeout-food hub). It was nice to have a word for that.
Immediately, though, everyone started using it for any situation where a company made things worse in some way. But sometimes it's just plain old short-term-profits-driven capitalism.
We didn't need a new word for that.
