It is truly the end of an era. After over a decade of observing, the 15th January marks the final day of science observations for the #Gaia #GaiaMission.

It's likely that you've never heard of Gaia, but it is responsible for producing the most accurate, precise 3D map of the Milky Way in existence.

Personally, Gaia provided crucial pieces of the puzzle in enabling a lot of my research and allowing me to get my PhD. So I’m very sad to see the mission end.

@jennrichter Nicely done! Since we’ve been slacking on our annual reviews, I’m happy to see others doing their own. One thing: most folks on the inside would define “typographers” as people who use type. I’d use “type designers” here.

BTW. ostatni boom na #Pixelfed przypomniał mi o jednej rzeczy. Jeśli obserwujecie konta na Pixelfed z poziomu #Mastodon, to pamiętajcie o ograniczeniu liczby zdjęć na Masdodonie.

Jeśli na Pixelfedzie ktoś opublikuje w poście więcej niż 4 zdjęcia, to na Mastodonie będziecie widzieć tylko 4 fotki. Mastodon nie informuje niestety, że coś "obcina", więc o ile nie wejdziecie w oryginalny post na Pixelfedzie, może Was ominąć kilka "nadmiarowych" zdjęć i nawet tego nie zauważycie.
