Legitimacy is paramount on the fediverse.

Without getting into detail, I saw that we were targetted by Russia prior to us outright blocking the geographic region.

That still, I know roskomnadzor uses VPN and all of us - monderators and all - are paying close attention.

We still need your help. If you see something suspicious, report it. We'll look at it. We might reach out to the origin server. We might just outright block. It alll just depends on the situation.

At the end of the day, the safety of our community takes a village.

We're watching for these threat actors but we need your help to flag and tag them too.

As we get closer to an election here in Canada, these false actors will try to establish.

Most importantly, use the report function to alert us so we can tag and document. When these accounts are alerted to us we can use heuristics to block and deter.

Thought this makes it easier, our senses are heightened.
