"And Musk’s decision to accuse at least one peaceful protester of “committing crimes” on X has fueled a public discourse that equates protest with vandalism, and vandalism with terrorism": ‘Tesla Takedown’ protesters are planning a global day of action on March 29, and things might get ugly | TechCrunch https://techcrunch.com/2025/03/29/tesla-takedown-protesters-are-planning-a-global-day-of-action-on-march-29-and-things-might-get-ugly/

Yup. I will say that California building codes are updated based on lessons learned after disasters. And builders are getting better at building more resilient structures.

Our cabin in Tuolumne County was built for the appropriate seismic zone & fire hazards with screened venting, a metal roof and not-wood heat resistant siding.

The one big additional expense was the mandated interior fire sprinklers and water system holding tank which added $12k to the cost which was a bummer.

I’m down over 30lbs since Christmas. Wearing skinny jeans today. Not those awful hipster things that make you look like a potato with toothpicks for legs. The jeans I stuck in my closet “just in case” I ever lost the weight. That’s almost as satisfying as the weight loss. The vindication for keeping them for just such a purpose.

I may have to consider Nate Bargatze’s strategy of telling people he used to weigh 300 pounds. That way you look good no matter what.
