Can you imagine setting lead type by hand in order to print a book? How many pages or spreads did they print at a time? Setting all the type upside down and backward, for each page, which the original was—handwritten?

Then printing the number of pages you needed to create however many books had been ordered, and then starting over on the next 4-6 pages.

Even a small book would take days or weeks. They must have cost a fortune.

Sounds exhausting.

I simply cannot believe the number of sports-related articles that nothing more than projection, wild prediction, or groundless supposition concerning who is going to trade for whom?

“Astros $2.4 million hurler predicted to cut ties with Houston for Mets”

“Phillies predicted to be 'aggressive' in attempt to sign $42 million star”

“Phillies urged to add projected $75 million slugger in ‘absolute dream signing’”

None of these stories have any merit. Just fever dreams and wild-ass guesses.



The publisher for the Washington Post says the storied paper will not endorse a candidate for president for the first time in 36 years, and that it does not intend to endorse candidates in future races.
